Dreaming of Microformats and Machine Tags

If it is one thing that I just cannot stop doing, it is fiddling with my blog. A couple of weeks back, I resurrected my book review blog. It is now up and running as Readings and Rereadings… . As a fan of microformats and machine tags, I decided to use them as much as possible in the book review blog. Go on and take a look at that blog as to how I’m using them. It uses WordPress.

As for this site, I use microformats here also. All the recipes posted here are marked up as hrecipes. But I’ve been struggling to implement machine tags with Habari. I have used a few machine tags to mark up my recipes like ‘recipe:ingredient=chicken’. The trouble is they are hidden in the meta data (custom fields) and are not exposed, meaning you cannot search for something like recipe:ingredient=mustard and expect a list of all recipes that use mustard as an ingredient. I wish I could find a way to do that.
