The past few days, I’ve been flirting with Ubuntu. After years of Ubuntu releases discs lying around my home, I never got around to installing it. Usually I would use the LiveCD and play around the system and then toss the disc somewhere. What prevented me from using Ubuntu was the lack of portability.
Almost everyone I know uses Windows. So shifting completely to Ubuntu from Windows completely would be disastrous :-) as the applications I use at work are Windows-platform applications.
I’ve started using text files and online applications so that most of my data is in the ‘cloud’ and are accessible from any operating system.
So till the time I get to work on platform-agnostic tools, I’ll be using Ubuntu as my secondary OS.
